The Deputy Mayor of the Treasury, Ángel Gavino, has informed that the period for collecting the receipts corresponding to the payment of the Property Tax (IBI) has been extended until Thursday 3 December. The deadline was 11 October.
Gavino indicated that “from the Town Hall we want to give all the facilities to the families so that they can pay the IBI in the voluntary term, so that they do not have to face surcharges in the future.”
“We have considered the impact that the COVID-19 is causing in the domestic economies, in the families of our municipality, self-employed, SMEs, etc, especially notable in the economic plan, and we understand that one of the resources that can help to be able to mitigate as much as possible from the Town Hall is to extend the period of payment in voluntary, for which reason we have modified the calendar of the contributor for the Tax on Real Estate”, indicated the councillor.
The IBI in San Roque is at the minimum allowed by law, and is therefore one of the lowest in Spain. It should be remembered that in 2017 it was at 0.47, rising to 0.42 in 2018 and since 2019 at 0.40.
