The band 4 WOMEN QUARTET (4WQ) presents  “A History of Women in Jazz”, a project with which the band travels through the history of Jazz from a female perspective, remembering the work of women composers, lyricists, arrangers, instrumentalists and singers, highlighting their contributions, some of them decisive for the development of the genre.

Lilian Hardin, Betty Carter, Nina Simone, Ann Ronell, Maria Schneider, are some of the protagonists of this presentation and, through their compositions, we will travel through different stages and musical styles within the genre of Jazz, from the sound of its African origins, through Blues, Hot Jazz, the era of Swing, Bebop and even Contemporary Jazz.

The quartet released its first album in January 2020 under the Blue Asteroid label.

The concert is presented by Rizoma Records and Cultural Sotogrande.
