The LafargeHolcim silo, located in the port of Endesa on the Palmones Industrial Estate, will be subject to a technical blasting next Thursday at midday. Due to its proximity to the Guadarranque district, the Town Hall is asking the population to take precautions and to collaborate, and to avoid approaching this San Roque beach during the operation, as a section of it will be marked as a “safety zone”.
Although this silo is located in the municipality of Los Barrios, it is also located next to the mouth of the Guadarranque River, which is shared by this municipality and San Roque. In fact, the nearest populated area is the Guadarranque district, although the homes are not located within the 500 metre security perimeter or in the aforementioned “area closed to the public”, which only affects the stretch of beach closest to the mouth.
San Roque Town Hall asks for caution and responsibility from the population to avoid unnecessary risks. In any case, the Local Police and Civil Protection will collaborate with the organisation of this technical blasting so that no person or vehicle is found in the area at the time of the blasting, which is scheduled for 12.00 this Thursday 14th.
