San Roque Town hall suspends Carnival activities 2021

The San Roque Town Council has agreed to suspend all face-to-face events planned in the municipality for the month of February. This includes the Carnival and various events related to Easter Week, among others.

After an online meeting held yesterday morning, the mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, reported that due to the high incidences of Covid in the municipality, it has been decided to suspend all activities scheduled by the council for this month.

The mayor announced that “there will be no carnival in any of the neighbourhoods or in the town of San Roque”
The mayor said that “in order to maintain some of the traditions and collaboration with groups in the municipality, we are going to promote some online activities, which do not require the presence of people”.
“When we go down to less than a thousand cases we will see which activities we can recover,”
