Six of the eight municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar are this Thursday below the 500 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants and, although official confirmation is still pending, this would allow them to abandon the perimeter closure as of Saturday. The citizens of La Línea, San Roque, Jimena and Los Barrios, will be able to leave their towns to others that do not suffer this restriction. This means that only Algeciras and Castellar maintain the perimetral closure, although their non-essential activity can remain open as they are below 1,000 cases.
The decrease in the incidence rates of the last weeks continues. Although it is still not known for sure how the virus is spreading the region bends the curve and if last Saturday the non-essential shops and hotels were already open in all municipalities except Castellar, this Saturday will come, if there is no change by the Ministry of Health, the end of the perimeter closure for the municipalities indicated.
Despite the good incidence data, and the fact that the number of cured cases has risen by 162 people, the coronavirus continues to increase the number of positive tested people and deaths in this area. According to the Junta, this Thursday there are 60 more positives and 3 deaths.
