Agents of the Guardia Civil of the Main Post of Guadiaro have carried out the investigation into the theft of a boat in the marina of Sotogrande. The crime took place on the 10th of March, date on which was stolen a sailboat of 15 meters in length which was moored in the marina.
After numerous investigations carried out by the Guardia Civil officers in the different marinas in the province of Cadiz and Malaga, they located a boat in the Alcaidesa Marina in the town of La Línea de la Concepción. A thorough inspection of the sailboat was necessary to conclude that it was the one stolen weeks before in the Port of Sotogrande, as it had been modified to disguise it and make it difficult to identify, with the aim of being sold to a third party, using fraudulent documentation.
The investigations carried out led to the identification of the person who was skippering the boat at the time of the theft, who was a resident of the area.
During the course of the investigation, a top of the range Mercedes vehicle was also recovered, which has been internationally marked by the Italian authorities for theft.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority of the Court of Instruction of San Roque, with the imputation of three crimes for theft of the boat and the vehicle, as well as document forgery.
