A 35 year old woman has been hospitalised and her six year old son has been injured after being run over this morning in San Roque.
The accident, which took place around 9.10 am, as explained by sources of the emergency service 112, has taken place in the access to a garage located in the Avenida Reserva de Sotogrande.
The woman, with the child, leaving the garage, located in front of the International School of Sotogrande, when she dropped the keys in her hand on the floor and bent over to pick them up. At that moment an all-terrain vehicle arrived, heading for the aforementioned garage and the driver did not see the woman bending over, who was run over and trapped under the vehicle, according to sources from the Consorcio de Bomberos de la Provincia de Cádiz.
After alerting the 112, the Public Company of Sanitary Emergencies (EPES), the Local Police of San Roque and the Firemen were mobilised. When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, the SUV had been lifted with a jack and blocks, but the woman was still trapped under the vehicle.
Finally, the firemen managed to stabilize the vehicle with chocks and lift it up to take the woman out with a spinal board for her transfer by helicopter to the Regional Hospital of La Línea de la Concepción.
As explained by the firemen, the woman suffers from polytraumatism in her shoulder, hip and head. The child she managed to protect at the time of the accident suffers scratches on his face, although he has also been transferred to the hospital, according to 112.
