The mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, has again asked urgently to all residents of San Roque and its communities for a commitment to masks, social distancing and handwashing to avoid to be moved to level 4 grade 2, which is much more restrictive, after the Campo de Gibraltar this week has been raised to alert level 4 after having been in 3 for several weeks.
The mayor explained that he has held a meeting with the territorial delegate of Health and other mayors of the region. “What I want is to raise awareness of all residents of the municipality to collaborate so that we have the appropriate precaution and we do not advance further to level 4, grade 2 which is where most of the province of Granada is” said Ruiz Boix.
“That grade 2 implies more restrictions, more limitations in people’s lives and also has great effects on businesses, on economic activities, since it means a total lockdown and not only partially, which is what we have now at 6 pm,” warned the mayor.
“After more than nine or ten months of pandemic we are all tired, but we must not allow relaxation. We have to continue to be cautious” he added.
In short, the mayor is asking for a commitment from the residents so figures will allow another type of restrictions after the partial lockdown which will last until December 10th.
“There will be restrictions in the weeks of Christmas, but perhaps we will have a little more freedom if we all commit to continue fighting” concluded the mayor.
